Loser

So I guess I am the big loser this time. I have misplaced my SD Card for our digital camera. This causes a huge problem because all of our hospital pictures of Isabelle our on that card. I feel really sickened by the whole thing. Therefore, I haven't posted for quite awhile. I new this would happened when I set this blog up.
We have gone through a lot since my last post. We have been in the middle of a huge remodeling project with our guest bathroom. Luckily we have another bathroom in the house. We had an old tub with no shower when we bought the house. So the old tub came out and we put in a new tub and shower to replace it. When we brought the shower surround in through the door of the bathroom, it wouldn't turn the right way for us to get it into the space. Therefore, we had to knock down the wall in the hallway to get the shower fitted into place. I put the shower surround in, siliconed the edges, and sealed into place.......only to find out that I did some of the plumbing wrong. So, take the whole thing apart, fix the plumbing, and seal the tub/shower again. What would have taken 5 hours for a plumber has now taken me 6 weekends. Not to mention that now I have a hallway wall to frame, drywall, and paint.
Isabelle is growing so fast. It is hard to believe that she is almost 2 months old. We had a wonderful Christmas. At the last minute we decided to go down to Sheridan, Wyoming and spend a couple of days with Mandy's family. The kids got their Imaginext toys they wanted. In addition, Santa brought them a horse barn with horses. The loved it. They have not stopped playing with the barn, stable (Mandy's Grandpa built them a stable), and horses. Then, unbeknowest to Mandy, Ernie (our kids' elf) and Santa surprised the boys and Mandy to a Wii. Mandy and I are completely addicted. Mandy thinks she is hotstuff just because she can beat me at bowling. But, I have her in golf and fishing. We are looking forward to buying the Wii fit and Mario Kart games.
Mandy, Eli, Owen, Isabelle, and Myself wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I am so lucky to have a beautiful wife, and 3 great, healthy kids. They are truly a joy in my life. They are all growing so fast. Eli is pretty much self sufficient, even to the point where if he is hungry, he can make him is own lunch (his favorite is Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich). Last night, he invited Grandma Pebbles for a sleepover. They spent the night in the living room together. I wouldn't be surprised if he convinced Grandma to play the Wii in the middle of the night.
Owen is definetly two. He is a busy kid, into just about anything in comes in contact with. His vocabulary has tripled lately and says the funniest things. This year for Christmas he wanted nothing in the world more than a barn and horses. He can just about make anything into a horse for himself to ride. He is so cute and lovable. He is the kind of kid that can make you so angry, and then seconds later brings a smile to your face with his crazy antics. I can tell already that I have a mini-me on hands with Owen.
Until next time and maybe some new pics,
Kevin

We had the opportunity to go to the corn maze for Eli's preschool. Parents and families were invited, so we took Owen along with us. Unfortunately, this was pre-Isabelle era. The kids had a ton of fun. We went the through the maze, picked out pumpkins, and kids had a blast in the barrel train.

Yes, Mandy road in this car with Owen on her lap. The were small and hard to pedal, but Mandy pushed through for the kids. She is 9 months pregnant in this picture.

Baby's First Bath

Last night we gave Isabelle her first bath. For whatever reason, the nurses at the hospital told us not to bathe her for two weeks. We waited a week...good enough!

Bringing the baby home

We have had a wonderful time in the hospital. A huge thank-you to Mandy's little sister and her mom for staying with Eli and Owen. Isabelle is doing well. We had a rough first night, however nothing out of the ordinary. (just getting used to a new baby) Eli is doing well with the baby. He looks forward to help out anyway he can. Owen is clinging to mom and dad BIG time. He senses the change and he is not happy about it.

Isabelle's Big Day

She's finally here. And my blog is hopefully running smoothly. I think my big brother will be proud of me for figuring this thing out on my own. I haven't really subsribed myself into the newer internet options. But I'm getting there. Isabelle Rene arrived at 9:01am on 11/11/08. She was 8lbs 7oz and 20 inches long. She very healthy and in my opinion, the cutest little girl ever. We had a wonderful day yesterday at the hospital. Everything went perfect and just as planned.

This picture is a little fresh, but I think it is so cute.

Here is Owen, singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" to his new baby sister. He loved giving kisses on her "softest cheekies"

Eli is so proud. He wanted to make sure the baby was safe, so he refused to go back home after the delivery. So we let him stay and take care of mommy and Isabelle. His favorite part about the hospital is getting Mommy snacks at the "snack station". (and pulling the cord in the bathroom that send 3-4 nurses running to the room!!!)
